| Why name EXILE KINGS PRODUCTIONS? |
| I had an explanation of my company's name on my previous website, but i removed it attempting to be away from any politics. Since it looks like that is not completely possible I will try to give a straight and clear explanation. I could have called my company Refugee Films. At some point in life I was a refugee. However, Exile Kings was more attractive to me for this reason: every refugee, and in a broader sense every immigrant, tends to idealize his or her previous life and country of origin. The less you go back to visit, the deeper it becomes. In some way each of us lost a place where we were all proud and glorious. In that sweet and idealized past we all "lived like kings" and now that kingdom, that paradise, is lost. Forever. This applies to scientists and artists, truck drivers and cleaners. To be an exile king means to walk through life with your precious and sometimes very pathetic memories, to drag them around like helium filled balloons. The only thing you are really trying to preserve is some dignity or at least an illusion of it. So, that went through my mind when I chose my company's name. |
